Our board-certified heart surgeons, assisted by nurses and support staff who specialize in heart care, remove healthy blood vessels from other parts of the body (usually the chest and leg) and use them to construct detours around blocked arteries near the heart. Depending on how many heart arteries need bypassing, the surgery may involve one, two, three or more bypasses.

If you have diabetes and need heart surgery, your blood glucose will be monitored and maintained at healthy levels during the surgery.
